Who doesn’t want a glowing and radiating skin? Well, it’s a no brainer. Isn’t it? But, it is not easy to get a glowing and radiating skin once you are past your 20’s. We admire (read :envy) women who have a radiating skin even in their middle age. We often attribute expensive beauty products and procedures as the reason behind that glow. But, you can achieve that radiance, at home, by committing yourselves to these secrets :-
1.Omega3 and Amino Acid rich Diet :- With age, our skin loses both collagen (a protein that keeps skin firm, plump and wrinkle free) and elastin (a protein that gives skin strength and allows it to stretch). We can compensate the loss of these essential proteins with the help of a diet that’s rich in Omega-3 fatty acids, amino acids, potassium and Vitamin A. So make fish, nuts (especially walnuts), eggs , green leafy vegetables, Green-Tea, a part of regular diet and see the difference in a months time.
2. Sleep away to glory :- The building, repair and maintenance of tissues and cells happen when we sleep. The old dead skin cells replace new ones, facial muscles relax, which allows the dermal layers of the skin to rejuvenate, thus helping to smoothen wrinkles and fine lines. Seven to eight hour of sound sleep will do more benefit to the skin than any expensive beauty product. There is a reason why it’s called the beauty sleep!
3. Follow a skin care routine at home :- Cleansing and moisturizing face daily should be a part of your skin care regimen at home. Use a mild cleanser according to the skin type and follow it up with a moisturizer. Exfoliation should be done once or twice a week. Regular application of under eye gels, creams, lotions will yield good results on the skin. So make a routine and stick to it.
4.Protection from Sun rays :- 90 percent of wrinkles occur because of harmful sun radiations. Never step out of home ( even if its not sunny outside), without applying a sun-block (not just sunscreen) with minimum 30 SPF. Also make it a point to reapply the lotion every two hours when out in the sun.
5.Yoga :- The breathing techniques stimulate hypodermis (lower layer of skin), the dermis (middle layer) and epidermis (upper layer of skin), thereby blood circulation increases along with increase in oxygen and nourishment to skin cells. This leads to a beautiful facial glow and healthy complexion. The techniques are also designed to stimulate collagen and elastin production in the middle layer of the skin giving you a smoother, more supple, tighter-looking skin.
6.Stress less :- Stressing more means inviting wrinkles to appear early. Stress releases a hormone called cortisol which damages the collagen on the skin, making fine lines and wrinkles to appear. So, worry less, and be happy. Remember, a happy skin is also a healthy skin.
7.Say No to Smoking & Drinking :- Smoking & drinking are not only bad for the body, but they cause severe damage to the facial skin as well. Smokers develop deeper forehead wrinkles and fine lines, as a result of lack of oxygen to the skin cells. Drinking leads to uneven skin tone, it deprives the skin of vital vitamins and nutrients. In order to have a healthy radiating skin, stay away from these bad habits.
